Dentures

Different types of Dentures for replacing missing teeth

Dentures are much more than prosthetic teeth. They also solve and prevent serious health issues stemming from partial or full tooth loss. Medical science has shown how missing teeth contributes to an increased risk of certain health disorders and nutritional deficiencies. If you’ve been searching for “affordable dentures in La Mesa,” then you’re in luck. Here at Summit Dental of La Mesa, we provide world-class denture services at a very affordable price.

What are dentures?

Dentures are a common tooth replacement option for replacing missing teeth. These removable restorations are constructed with materials such as metal, resin, acrylic, and a combination of different materials.

Not only can dentures restore your smile’s natural appearance, but they can also help you eat and speak normally. For years at Summit Dental of La Mesa, Drs. Richard Evans and Christine Allen have encouraged their patients to explore their options regarding the different types of denture treatments available.

Types of dentures we offer

Everyone may not share the exact same needs and may require different solutions. With that in mind, we offer three types of dentures designed to restore missing teeth. They include:

Partial dentures

Partial dentures are composed of a metal framework and use your existing teeth to lend support and hold them in place within your mouth’s dental arch. Also, there are cases in which we may use partial dentures with a non-metal framework. With partial dentures, false teeth are slid into place once the denture is fully inserted.

Full dentures

Full dentures are constructed with medical-grade plastics or acrylics and replicate an entire arch of teeth in both performance and appearance. They are held in place using natural suction or, in some cases, over-the-counter dental adhesives.

Implant-retained dentures

For the best results, many of our patients (who are qualified candidates) choose implant-retained dentures. The main difference between these and traditional dentures is that implant-retained dentures can be permanently fixed and can function like healthy natural teeth.  Dental implants are used to anchor these dentures in your mouth, making them the most favored and stable denture options available on the market.
