Would you like to straighten your teeth but feel uncomfortable with using braces? If so, Invisalign® might be a good alternative. Invisalign retainers are made of a clear plastic and are custom-made for your teeth to straighten them out. We will explain how they differ from braces.

First of all, the plastic is see-through, so your teeth remain visible. Braces often take center stage and block your smile. With Invisalign, your smile is still the main star of the show.

On top of looking nice, Invisalign can feel more comfortable to wear. Being made specifically for your teeth, the retainers fit more perfectly than braces. They also do not apply as much pressure as braces do during the alignment process.

Another large difference is that Invisalign is removable. You can take the retainers out any time, which is helpful in the following situations.

When you eat, taking the retainers out allows you to eat types of food that braces might otherwise forbid. Brushing and flossing is easier with the retainers out, while braces make these daily routines a little more challenging. Lastly, cleaning the retainers is easier than cleaning braces, as you usually just have to pull them out and rinse them in warm water.
